BIG baby!!!

We had another ultrasound today and found out that Wyatt could be a large baby! It was kind of funny because one of the first things that the ultrasound tech said was that it didn't look like we'd have a scrawny baby! She said that he probably weighs about 3lbs 7 oz and is in the 72nd percentile. This really wasn't a big surprise since at my last appointment I was measuring about 3 weeks ahead of schedule and this time I was still 3 weeks ahead. Also, his father isn't exactly a small fella. So...because he's big, we will get to have an ultrasound every month that's left (probably 2 more). I will try to post some pics of the moose (Wyatt) and of my growing figure later. Stay tuned...

Drum Roll Please...

It's a Boy!!!!! Yes that's right, we have broken Glover family tradition and are having a boy first. It's funny because a lot of our friends have been telling us that because we really want to know what we're having that our child would probably not cooperate and we'd have to wait 4 more weeks to have another ultrasound to find out. Well...for awhile there I thought that they were all right. At the beginning of the ultrasound he was sleeping and the umbilical cord was covering up all of the important parts. So the tech told us that she would do all of her measurements and we would come back to it. Well wouldn't you know, our child slept through most of it. When he finally woke up he would kick and move his arms, but was apparently pretty comfortable where he was cause he was not about to do any flips or turning around. Finally at the very end, after the tech had been wiggling my stomach for about 10 minutes he finally moved and we could see that he is definitely a boy. Matt had been pretty nervous throughout the whole thing (afraid that it would be a girl), but he instantly relaxed when he found out that it's a boy. He says he would like a girl, but he really wanted our first one to be a boy. I guess the good Lord knew what he was doing and didn't give Matt something he couldn't handle- a little girl!

All of the stats for the baby are all normal. He's the right size and isn't missing any parts and doesn't have any extras. My due date also has not changed. So we should still expect to meet the little guy sometime around February 22! We're very excited. Tomorrow when I get to work I'll scan and post some of the pictures. So check back tomorrow to see what he looks like (if you can tell).

A New Look

I've changed our look! I hope you like it and can read it.

We really haven't been up to much lately. I just keep getting bigger and we are eagerly waiting to find out what we're having. Boy or Girl??? We'll find out in about 2 weeks (if the baby cooperates)! We can't wait to find out and we'll keep you posted. Once we find out, I can finally start working on the nursery. We've bought the crib, but we haven't taken it out of the box yet. Guess we should probably do that sometime soon. Oh well! We'll get it done eventually. Anyway, hope everyone has a good weekend!

Our Jamaica Vacation!

Matt and I just got back from a wonderful week in Jamaica! We had a great time. Since it was our 2nd time there we went off the resort more and saw more of Jamaica. We went shopping at 2 different craft markets. I must say I got pretty good at wheeling and dealing! We also went rafting on a bamboo raft through some really pretty parts of Jamaica. Then we went on a semi-submarine ride (looks like a glass bottom boat, but you're 6 feet under water). It was fun, but not so great for the pregnant lady! It made me a little sick-but at least I made it back to our room first! Other than that I felt pretty good and we had a great time. I tried to post some pictures below. It's my first time, so sorry if it doesn't turn out so great!

Our last night in Jamaica!

Sandals had a steel drum band playing before the beach party one night.

One of the craft markets we went to.

Our rafting guide (Nelson) took a picture of us rafting down the Martha Brae
The original Margaritaville is in Montego Bay
A picture of our semi-submarine. When we were downstairs in the boat we were about 6 feet under water.

This was the view from our patio.

We're Having a Baby!!

That's right! We're having a baby and we're very excited about it! We found out on June 13th (which just happened to be Friday the 13th). Matt didn't believe the first test, so I ended up taking another one the next day to prove to him that I really am pregnant! I actually ended up taking 3 tests! Last week I had a doctor's appointment and we heard the baby's heart beat for the first time. It was very exciting and we finally had proof that there's actually a baby in there and I haven't just had the flu for 2 months! We won't know until October whether it's a boy or a girl. I'll keep you posted.

Moving....Maybe!

So, for several months now Matt and I have been throwing around the idea of moving out of Iowa...and now it seems like it just might happen! We're starting to get pretty serious about this idea. Tonight we are going to talk to someone about advise on how we can live on less money (which would be good to know whether we move or not). Then in about 2 weeks on my spring break we are heading down to Texas so Matt can start talking to some folks about job opportunities in Lubbock. I of course have been looking non-stop on the internet for jobs and houses. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens! Stay tuned...
